THE Grey second team beat the United Cricket Club under-19 squad comfortably by seven wickets on the final day of the Cape Youth Festival.
United posted a modest 84 for nine off their 20 overs, which was never going to be enough on the relatively small Philip Field at Grey.
Ilyaaz Damonse dominated United's innings, scoring a stubborn 41, while Grey seamer Daniel Dutton bowled superbly, ending with the amazing figures of three for one off his four overs.
Grey then cruised to 85 for three, winning with five overs to spare.
Mark Zonneveldt made 35 and Cameron Rania continued his good form making 31 not out.
ýTHE Grey U15 team beat St Albans by 13 runs in a superb match on the Pollock Field yesterday.
Grey batted first and made an impressive 143 for two. Opening batsman David Masterson batted throughout the innings, ending with a superb 68 not out.
Dillon Smith batted well for his 38.
The Pretoria boys made a great effort ending on 130 for eight.
Needing 20 runs off the final over, they lost their star batsman Chris Roberts off the second ball for a fine 73. Grey's best bowlers were Jarryd Lookwhy with two for 13 off four overs and Travis Outram, who took two for 23.
The Grey U15 side won all four of their festival matches.
