THE interview with councillor Nomajama Benya ("Community work is 24/7, says Benya", Herald September 23) is spot on.
I just hope as a Ward 4 resident this issue of the sporting facilities can be addressed soon.
Can you imagine what will happen to Walmer football if Walmer Links says football must vacate the community field which is located in the space of land that they own?
Well, that would put an end to football because the one school field will not be enough to play football meant for under-11; under-13; under-15; under-17; first division and senior division coupled with women's football.
I just hope one day that the issue of a football facility can be attended to. What will 2000 participants do if football is no longer played in Walmer?
Will it not have a bearing in youth decay and crime etc?
