THE deaths of 19 people on roads surrounding Nelson Mandela Bay during the past month has prompted traffic authorities to increase the number of speed traps and road blocks.
Several motorists and passengers were also injured in five separate accidents since September 3.
Three of the accidents, which left 12 people dead, were on the same stretch of the N2 between Port Elizabeth and Grahamstown.
The latest accident on this stretch of road occurred at 6.30pm on Sunday, when a car collided with a bakkie.
