THE man arrested for the murder of Despatch family man Rocco Swanepoel at the weekend appeared briefly in the Uitenhage Magistrate's Court yesterday.
Clayton Philander, 30, appeared on a charge of murder following a suspected botched burglary.
Swanepoel, 38, was stabbed to death inside his home.
Police spokesman Warrant Officer Basil Seekoei said the murder case against Philander was postponed until Monday for a formal bail application.
Philander, who was out on bail for a burglary five months ago, will reappear today for the commencement of that trial.
Seekoei said Philander's suspected accomplices were still at large. – Gareth Wilson
