THERE is a standoff between Morningside High School's governing body and parents who have not been given September report cards due to non-payment of a fee.
The school governing body (SGB) decided to force parents to pay R1000 before releasing report cards last month.
The move has angered parents and some have threatened legal action against the Eastern Cape Education Department.
Parents said they were annoyed because the amount was not part of school fees but rather a registration fee for the 2014 academic year. It is estimated that more than 200 pupils at the Kabega Park school have not received reports.
When contacted for comment, secretary of the SGB Kevin Booysen declined to comment.
