SARU DECISION ON KINGS A DISGRACE
KINGS/EP Rugby: what a shocking decision by the SA Rugby Union. SA rugby can keep token gestures of test matches and sevens rugby. It is a disgrace.
KINGS Currie Cup omission: what a disgrace. I am now a millionaire. I bet that Saru would once again renege on its promise to the Kings. Super 16 will not happen either. Saru is a closed shop with members who only look after themselves.
AS usual, Port Elizabeth and the Eastern Cape are left sucking the hind tit – EP Kings' hopes dashed by rival unions. To the rest of the country, we are of no consequence at all and by and large don't even exist. Most business and contracts are invariably awarded to Joburg companies where their head offices are based and yet those same companies expect the support of the Port Elizabethans. Is it any wonder that we are the second most impoverished province in the country? The East Cape is never given an equal chance and our year in Super Rugby was no chance at all.
I AM very upset that EP Kings have lost out on their Currie Cup Premium Division bid. If Saru wanted to include the EP Kings it could have done it. How long must we wait to get top rugby in PE? Clubs voting against us have for years come to Eastern Province to steal our players but they don't want us to have top rugby. It's not fair at all. I feel Saru's discriminating against us and it is not fair to our players or us as spectators. We demand to have top rugby in PE. Now we will not go to watch other clubs play friendly matches here next year.

N2 TO GRAHAMSTOWN A CIRCUS
DEATH toll on roads: the N2 between Grahamstown and PE (particularly between Grahamstown and Nanaga) is a circus! As a family, and individually, we drive that road a couple times a week and it would appear that all solid white lines as well as blind rises are deemed to be earmarked for "overtaking". Speeding is also a problem, as is the lack of policing and possibly a lack of driver's licences!
BRING BACK THE DEATH PENALTY
CLAYTON Philander, if he is found guilty, should get the death sentence for killing Rocco Swanepoel in Despatch. When will the government bring back the death penalty?

PARENTS DESERVE TO ROT IN HELL
NO leniency for the two evil parents of the little 10-month-old baby! Her injuries were horrific! They deserve to rot in hell.

MADONSELA FOR PRESIDENT
THULI Madonsela is a true leader. I wish her to be the president of our country. She is unlike the corrupt leaders of this country. She does not mince her words.
CONSUMERS PAY FOR INEFFICIENCY
THE increase in the price of imported chickens forces us, the struggling consumers, to pay for uneconomically run local chicken farms. Sad.
REPLIES TO READERS' COMMENTS
SORRY Gavin, but the best drummer accolade goes to Neil Peart of Rush. He's been voted the best rock drummer over the last few decades. Bonham comes in at second.
I WONDER if "Missing the beat" has ever heard of Gene Kruper and Buddy Rich? Listen to Cottontail and then decide who is the best drummer ever!
SORRY Gavin and Ron, you are both missing a beat! Ever heard of Ginger Baker?
MR Upton, would you object to the sale of the Union Jack (1899-1910) or the Red Ensign (1910-1928) or any of the dozens of other flags that were in use in South Africa since 1652? We were still a British Union when the last flag was adopted and while the word "apartheid" may not have existed then, the concept was very real. I'm sure there are many other matters that you can constructively comment on instead of wasting space complaining about flags being sold on street corners.
B VENTER, I must agree with you. A nice fat rump on my braai is much better than having to observe those fat rumps on the podium at a politicised rally singing Mshini Wam!
IN reply to Reubs, who commented on "Boy shocked at penguin pool", my son was viewing the penguins, that's what the penguin pool is there for! Go there and you will see what I meant. There's a line of electric wire that looks like a white rope (not a fence).

IAN, our traffic cops do a zero day week.
MASSACRE COULD HAPPEN IN SA
A MASSACRE could happen here. Security is so poor at most places that it can't stop an ant.
DENY ALLEGED KILLER BAIL
SHOULD Nathan Lewis get bail then there is no justice.
VOTE WITH AN INDEPENDENT MIND
THE coming general elections next year should be a determining factor and a way forward to all those still experiencing hardship under current governance. Black people in particular have been reduced just to political objects by those who are gunning for positions in government structures. Why vote for a society characterised by class divisions instead of a society that will share the wealth of this country equally to all its citizens without favour or fear. Azapo is the only movement that can create a classless society and retain the dignity of black people .

PETROL PRICE DECREASE NO SURPRISE
THE petrol price decrease is no surprise. It was timed to coincide with Jacob Zuma's signing e-tolling into law. Now stand by for more decreases as the election nears.
CONTROL RABIES BY CONTROLLING DOGS
PEOPLE would not die from rabies if there was controlled breeding and no roaming dogs on the streets.
