NEWLY elected Safa president Danny Jordaan could not hide his disdain at Bafana Bafana having failed to qualify for next year's World Cup in Brazil when delivering his address at the Soccerex conference in Durban yesterday.
Safa elected a new executive on Saturday last week, which is due to meet to discuss Bafana coach Gordon Igesund's future and other national team coaches.
Bafana crashed out of the World Cup qualifying group stages despite a 4-1 win over Botswana in Durban last month, which has put Igesund, the man tasked to ensure South Africa made it to Brazil, in the firing line. Jordaan was, however, coy about Igesund's future yesterday.
"It is not just about Gordon Igesund. We are not going to take a decision on Igesund in isolation from all of the coaches and the total plan," Jordaan said.
"What is important is to make sure that we qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco in 2015 and the Olympics in Rio in 2016, which also brings into play the under-23 coach, Shakes Mashaba."
