FINDING the most romantic and memorable way to propose to a loved one can often intimidate eager Romeos.
However, the anxiety of thinking up a creative proposal will, according to a company calledThe Perfect Proposal, become a thing of the past with their new services.
The company, which was started last year, helps clients organise and execute marriage proposals, dates, anniversaries and engagement parties.
Beach proposals, helicopter rides and picnics are the most popular ideas.
"Let's be honest, all guys need help and we are able to help with even the smallest details," founder Phillippa Stewart says.
She got the idea when she lived in the UK where the service is popular. Clients are expected to fill in questionnaires about their relationships when they need their help, Stewart says.
"We ask them about favourite colours, hobbies and things like that to get a sense of what they like. Then we tailor-make a date or proposal according to their needs.
"While some men are clueless about what they want, some have an idea and all we do is help them plan it."
Though the company is based in Cape Town, the team also services clients in Durban and Johannesburg. Stewart said they get more calls for help from males than females.
"We get all sorts of couples, including gay couples." She dismissed the notion that some races were more romantic than others, saying: "It depends on the person.
"Obviously, we don't suggest helicopter rides if they only have R2000 to spend."
One of the most romantic proposals the team set up was at The Residences at the Crystal Towers Hotel in Cape Town.
"We were in the penthouse and decorated the whole place in red rose petals, candles and fairy lights. There was a four-course meal as well," she said.
