DANNY Jordaan's appointment as new Safa president is long overdue as he has all the qualities and leadership capability to take Safa and our football to the next level. Danny has done a lot in putting our country and our football on the world map as we staged one of the best World Cup through his dedication and professionalism with Irvin Khoza.
They have made us proud and the whole world was very astonished by the manner in which 2010 World Cup was organised. This is the man who will lead our Safa, and he will also make sure that we develop young talent and soccer at schools at grassroots level.
We must also extend a hand to Shoes Mazibuko as he is oozing with experience and he can still add a lot of value within Safa. We are all hopeful things will be different at Safa as we have the right man for the job.
This is a huge step for Danny who hails from the friendly city. I would encourage him to see that our Eastern Province is striving to have any kind of franchise that we can all agree upon to have a representative team for our province.
We have so many businesses in the Eastern Cape that they can also attract at least one club to be based in Port Elizabeth as we have one of the best stadiums in the world and our football lovers cannot wait to see one of our teams also playing in the PSL.
We used to watch Bay United and had so many games in PE. They all have left us to play somewhere due to lack of financial resources. Umtata Bucks used to make us proud.
Surely Danny will guide us and plough back into his own city, and one day that dream will come through. Well done, Danny and we salute you in your appointment.
