A hearing into a misconduct complaint against Cape Judge President John Hlophe must go ahead, a tribunal ruled on Thursday (03/10/2013).
Tribunal president Judge Joop Labuschagne said the matter should proceed without any further delay.
"The main objection raised on behalf of Judge Bess Nkabinde and Judge Chris Jafta and Judge President Hlophe is dismissed,” said Labuschagne.
"This matter should proceed without further delay.” The misconduct complaint against Hlophe was laid in 2008. He allegedly tried to influence Jafta and Nkabinde to make a ruling favouring President Jacob Zuma.
