IT is with great disappointment to all loyal Eastern Province rugby supporters that we learnt we were not to be promoted to the Currie Cup Premier Division as of next year.
It should have been of utmost importance for Cheeky Watson and Charl Crous to have found the necessary 75% support before going to the Saru meeting to vote on enlargement of the Currie Cup from six to eight teams. They should not have gone into the board room with complacency and expectations that it was going just to happen because we finished second in the league this year.
Only two things are certain in life – death and taxes.
