THE man arrested for the murder of Despatch father Rocco Swanepoel withdrew his bail application in the Uitenhage Magistrate's Court yesterday.
Clayton Philander, 30, appeared on a murder charge following a suspected botched burglary last month.
However, he chose to abandon his bail application when he appeared before magistrate Neil Carroll.
Swanepoel, 38, bled to death after being stabbed at his home in Graham Bell Street while trying to protect his family from an intruder.
Philander was arrested shortly after the savage attack.
The matter has been postponed to October 29. – Lee-Anne Butler
