A PEARSTON game farmer is considering alternative means for the return of his escaped zebras after the Grahamstown High Court dismissed his appeal.
The ruling comes after a long legal spat between two neighbouring game farmers in Pearston involving the escape of five Burchell’s zebras onto a neighbour’s farm in 2007.
The high court dismissed an appeal by Hoeksfontein game farm manager Benjamin van Niekerk, who wanted the zebras returned and a payment of R37 050 with interest from Waterkloof game farm. The Pearston Magistrate’s Court had previously also ruled against Van Niekerk.
