WAYNE Parnell was once again the star of the show as the Chevrolet Warriors thrashed the Lions by 54 runs on the Duckworth-Lewis method in a rain affected Momentum One Day Cup game in Potchefstroom last night.
After taking six wickets in the opening match against the Knights at the weekend, Parnell smashed a century to help the Warriors compile 342 for six in their 50 overs. Parnell made 129 before he was dismissed off the bowling of Lonwabo Tsotsobe, caught at mid-wicket from a leading edge. He shared in an opening stand of 155 coming in 25.1 overs with Jon-Jon Smuts.
Smuts had played the aggressor role in the partnership, scoring at faster than a run a ball for his 73, before his innings was cut short.
