A DRAMATIC seven-hour father-and-son suicide mission, which began when three people were taken hostage inside a Port Elizabeth pharmacy yesterday, ended with the arrest of the two men last night.
The drama unfolded at midday when the 53-year-old former Roodepoort man and his 19-year-old son walked into Aloe Pharmacy in the Seaview shopping complex and demanded at gunpoint to be given lethal injections.
The men, who cannot be named until they appear in court, also threatened to detonate a bomb.
It turned out later that the firearm was a toy replica.
