AS a result of the ongoing strike, I was unable to renew my driver's licence at the Port Elizabeth traffic licensing department. So I decided to go to the Knysna office on our way to Cape Town.
What a pleasure it was. Friendly, polite staff, and I was in and out in less than an hour.
I was advised my licence would take about a month. On our return from Cape Town after two weeks I took a chance and popped in to see if it was ready.
I explained to the woman at the counter that we would be in Plettenberg Bay for a week, and she willingly gave me her name and phone number. We called her at the end of the third week and my licence was there.
I would suggest to anyone travelling through Knysna to do the same thing.
