THE Safa-NMB National Regional Inter-LFA tournament for boys and girls in the under-15 and under-13 divisions will be played at the City Defenders and Dodgers fields in New Brighton at the weekend.
Representative teams of the 11 football associations affiliated to Safa-NMB will play in a four-group round robin format.
At the end of the tournament teams will be selected to compete against eight regional teams from across the province.
An Eastern Cape team will then be selected to compete in the national tournament against the other eight provinces.
The entire tournament is a Safa 2010 World Cup initiative.
AFTER stopping Milan Stars in their tracks last week, Young Romans will have their tails up when they play Tomorrow Stars in a Mofa Build-It Premier League fixture at the NU2 Stadium tomorrow. Last week there was a feast of goals in the league, with both Maphempeni Lukhanyo (Shining Stars) and Feti Xolisa (Liverpool) scoring hat-tricks.
Highland Spurs will be hoping to continue from where they left off last week – they thrashed Real Aces 5-1 – when they play Valencia.
Defending champions Shining Stars, who thrashed Young Ideas last week, and Real Madrid, who are setting the early pace, will not be in action this weekend.
