A SECURITY official helped arrest one of two suspects involved in an armed robbery at a business in Market Street, Uitenhage, yesterday morning.
Police spokeswoman Warrant Officer Gerda Swart said the two suspects entered the business premises before 9am yesterday and allegedly demanded cash from the workers. She said they allegedly threatened the workers with knives.
After the cash was handed over to the suspects and as they were fleeing, one of the workers raised the alarm.
"A security official responded and apprehended one of the suspects and recovered the money. SAPS Uitenhage officers were also notified and assisted the company on the scene," Swart said.
The second suspect is still at large but police are following leads. A case of armed robbery was opened. – Lee-Anne Butler
