RUBBER SPEED HUMPS RIDICULOUS
I HAVE been saying our municipality is a circus for years and now I have been proved correct because only a clown or clowns could have had those speed humps put up in Walmer Boulevard.
MY electric window mechanism was damaged and I narrowly missed being tail-ended by a car behind me. Remove those bumps in Walmer Boulevard. They endanger lives and vehicles.
WHO is Basil Skosana, surely not an engineer? Because it seems if he can't get his way with the stupid humps put up in Walmer Boulevard, he makes a stupid remark about closing Pier Street. He obviously does not even know where Pier Street is and how many people live in this circle. What a joke.
ENGINEER Basil Skosana, your little outburst regarding "wait another 20 years for traffic lights or close Pier Street" is childish, extremely immature, a sign of arrogance and typical of that of the people employed by the local government. Bury that attitude, it does not do anybody any good.
THE best traffic calming is having competent traffic officers on the roads, working.
THE traffic calming has gone mad. The bumps at the motorway exit to Albany Road are horrendous for my little low car.

RUNAWAY WARD 5 WIN FOR DA
MIKE McCormack's crass comments on elderly voters are typical of a bad loser. Thought the ANC respected elders. Funny, these folk used to run a very efficient RSA!
EVERY picture tells a story! The toasting DA councillors are all white and all lawyers. Their caucus leader, whip and any councillors of colour are missing! Anyone hearing "let them eat cake"?
DIDN'T DO ANYTHING TO ENRICH THEMSELVES
HOSTAGE drama: unlike the current criminal element, these men did not do anything for personal enrichment, or intended murdering or raping innocent people. They were fed up with the human race and preferred death to combat the frustration, humiliation and suffering.
GORDHAN PUTS BRAKES ON GRAVY TRAIN
BRAVO Pravin Gordhan! You have fixed those thieving gravy train peculators for good.
FERDIE KILIAN, UITENHAGE
DON'T make me laugh, that train left the station a long, long time ago and is on a steep downhill gradient. As always no mention of the massive corruption by the ANC and No1.
BASIL, ST FRANCIS BAY
THANKS Pravin. Guess Nandos, Mr Saunders and Mr Walker won't be smiling!
JAY, PORT ELIZABETH
WOW, so the government fat cats have to step off the gravy train. Thanks Pravin, but the proof of the pudding is in the eating so we will have to wait and see if this is truly so.
WHAT! No more "perks" for ANC officials? Take away the tenders, what is there left to be ANC for? What a party pooper, Gordhan!
MARK Wiggett brilliant as usual. Should have drawn a tiny anchor though.
MUST BE NEAR THE HOLIDAY SEASON AGAIN
BEACHFRONT construction site: must be nearing the peak holiday season as this is surely why there is once again construction work on the promenade commencing at the end of October! My, oh my, PE stars again!
HOPE TREES WILL BE REPLACED
I SINCERELY hope the parks department will be replacing all the trees it is felling with indigenous ones.
STRESS-FREE RENEWAL IN ALEXANDRIA
ALEXANDRIA for stress-free licence renewal. In and out in 30 minutes. Well worth the drive. Take your own photos.
VIV BOSACK SADLY MISSED
OUR most heartfelt condolences to Viv Bosack's family at this sad and tragic time. Viv, you are sorely missed. RIP.
REPLIES TO READERS' COMMENTS
TO MC, could it be that the band at St George's is the reason why there are so many empty seats?
TO NS, Lorraine, it's as well we don't all like same things but overall Christina Williams has everything. As for Melissa Allison, we went to her show at the Boardwalk. It was outstanding, but I still say judges' comments sway the public. We also like Bunny.
SORRY, Paul, the BCCI is not running CSA, it is running the ICC. Why do you think they play so much? Because they generate money, my friend, and money has clout.
CHARLOTTE from Chelsea, actually you buy the fabric from selected outlets at R20 per metre and this goes to the cancer funds allocated. God willing you have not had anyone close to you suffer from cancer in any form.
TO Charlotte Chelsea, pink trees are wrapped for Pink Trees for Pauline using the correct pink. Check at www.pinktrees.co.za. Rather become involved than criticise.
TO TMG, Walmer, I know it is a breast cancer initiative. What I have a problem with is who pays for the waste of fabric or those pink Land Rovers? I will not enjoy if I see money is spent for decoration. Not every woman with breast cancer gets support!
FRANK, one has to contact Sassa each month to arrange bank account payment (if you can get through). Cash withdrawal at ATMs incurs bank charges. Many old people need every cent! The problem is that you obviously have no first-hand experience of waiting for a grant!
