WE went to a big band jazz concert at NMMU last week. It was excellent, the enthusiasm was so infectious and we were bouncing in our seats – and it was free.
Compare this to the Abdullah Ibrahim jazz concert at the Opera House for which we paid R150 each. It was so boring that we left at interval.
They didn't announce what they were playing, but as it was mindless rubbish it didn't matter. Ibrahim should go to NMMU to learn how to play big band jazz.
