PORT ALFRED resident Chris De Wet Steyn has saved Douglas Mbopa Senior Secondary School in Motherwell nearly R30000 in water bills this month with his family business's innovative technology.
AquaTrip Water Savings Systems was invited by Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality's water and sanitation department to install the technology at the school as a pilot project.
De Wet Steyn said the project, introduced on a one-month trial basis, was aimed at addressing water losses at Nelson Mandela Bay schools. "There was no better test than Douglas Mbopa, having 1350 pupils and in excess of 30 staff.
