THE PE Polocrosse Club will be hosting the Eastern Province Championships this weekend at their venue just off Kragga Kamma Road.

This promises to be full of spectacular equestrian excitement for all as the skills of the players are put to the test.

The PE Polocrosse Club have had four players selected for national teams in Chelsea McDonald, Connor McDonald, Tayla Mansfield and Shane Mansfield.

McDonald is in the national under-16 team which leaves for Ireland on July 4 to play against Ireland, the UK and Australia.

Shane Mansfield is in the u-16 team to play Zimbabwe in July and Tayla Mansfield and Connor McDonald are in the u-14 side to also play against Zimbabwe.



THE Nelson Mandela Bay table tennis trials will be played tomorrow at the KGM Hall in Malabar (12.30pm). The team chosen will travel to East London to participate in the provincial trials for the SA Table Tennis Games to be held in Benoni in September.

In a tough league encounter this week, Olympia A came out on top against Aryan B, winning 7-4. Monde Cola was in fine form, winning all his matches.

In the other exciting match of the evening, Aryan C defeated NMMU A 7-4.

The match between Booysens Pride and St Marks and St Johns ended in an 8-3 win for Booysens.



LOCAL businesses are getting behind the Investec Night Relay series, which starts next Thursday at 6pm and involves their teams completing a 4.2km run or walk relay around the North End Lake and Stadium precinct.

Established last year to bolster corporate team building and highlight the urban renewal undertaken by the Mandela Bay Development Agency in the Sydenham area, the Night Relay is expected to attract over 100 teams

This is the first year Investec have sponsored the event. The inaugural series last year, backed by the Mandela Bay Development Agency, attracted over 130 business teams.

The night relay starts at 6pm, with live entertainment from 7pm and a lucky draw prize-giving from 8.30pm.

Teams should register online at www.investecnightrelay.co.za. Companies enter for R500 for a running team and R300 for a walking team per race evening.
