FORMER ANC MP David Dlali has been found murdered near his farm in Matatiele in the Eastern Cape.
Dlali was found dead yesterday morning, said Moloto Mothapo, spokesman for the Chief Whip’s office.
"We are deeply saddened by the loss of such a hard-working and committed servant of the people through a senseless killing,” Mothapo said.
Police spokeswoman Brigadier Marinda Mills said Dlali was found with gunshot wounds in his body near his farm. No arrest had been made.
Dlali served as an MP for Gugulethu between 2001 and 2009, before joining the ministry of Women, Children and People with Disabilities as special adviser to Minister Lulu Xingwana.
Born on January 23 1960, in Mount Frere, Dlali participated in many portfolio committees. Years before he used to be an operative of the ANC’s armed wing Umkhonto we Sizwe. – Sapa
