At least 11 vacant posts for judges at various courts need to be filled, the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) said on Thursday (12/07/2012).
The Eastern Cape High Courts in Port Elizabeth and Mthatha each needed one judge, while the Western Cape High Court had four vacant posts.
"The Electoral Court also has vacancies for two judges. Candidates for these posts should be presently in service," the JSC said in a statement.
Other courts with vacancies included the KwaZulu-Natal High Court which needed a deputy judge president.
The Labour Court and the Labour Appeal Court both needed a judge president, while the High Court in Johannesburg and Pretoria needed a deputy judge president.
Closing date for applications is July 27.
Nominations for the posts should be accompanied by the candidate’s written consent, a curriculum vitae, and a completed questionnaire signed by the candidate.
Candidates should include at least three judgments they had made, the JSC said. - Sapa
