Bowls briefs

THIS morning there is mixed bowls at Park Drive, tabs in 9am. Visitors welcome. Other Park Drive playing sessions are: Tuesday 2pm, Saturday 2pm, Sunday 9.15am, and public holidays 9am. Visitors, prospective members and new bowlers welcome.

All Park Drive members must check the notice boards for playing dates of club competitions.

PEBC have social bowls on Tuesdays and Thursdays, tabs in 1.45pm, and Black & White men’s drawn pairs on Fridays, tabs in 8.55am.

The draws for the next round of the PEBC Black & White pairs on Saturday are:

DUE to the recent heavy rain, the Summerbreezz men’s drawn pairs competition at Summerwood will now take place on Monday, tabs in 1.45pm. Social bowlers are welcome and there are many prizes on offer. Inquiries: 083-261-9268.



CONGRATULATIONS must go to The Woods women’s team of Jen Cherry, Karen Korkie, Pat Thorp and Marcelle Thompson who won their event in the Knysna Oyster Festival last week. They went to the top of the ladder on Tuesday and remained there for the rest of the event, being unbeaten against strong opponents.



THE next round of the Barclay’s men’s pairs at Walmer CC will be played on Saturday at the normal starting time.



The winners of the King Cars Thursday morning men’s pairs competition played on July 12 at Western Suburbs were Keith Varnfield am John Trundel.



DUE to the wet weather, the Ibhayi men’s Nomads will have their next outing on Sunday at Western Suburbs, tabs in 1.30pm. The annual meeting will be held after the bowls.



THE Woods will welcome the following skips and their teams to their annual Continental Cars women’s Classic, which is being held on July 26: Madeleine Barry, Corrie Botha, Pam Brooks, Pat Cullin, Margaret Dingley, Elizabeth du Toit, Ilda Forbes, Jane Freeman, Jenny Giles, Wilna Gouws, Shirley Grogan, Estelle Hamblin, Annette Kritzinger, Elmarie le Gras, Marnie Message, Mavis Morgan, Elaine Paris, Mavis Smith, Rosa Tunstead, Joy van Hamert, Ansie van Niekerk, Susan van Rensburg, Des Vermaak, and Colleen Wolff.
