RISING Nelson Mandela Bay tennis star Jandré Lessing has earned himself a trip to the Junior World Cup in the Czech Republic next month.
Lessing was a part of the South African U14 tennis team which won a tournament in Algeria last month and his form has secured his spot for the World Cup, which will be played from August 9-19.
Lessing went on to play further claycourt tournaments in Algeria in cities called Oran and Mostaganem.
He won both the singles and the doubles in Oran and added another doubles title in Mostaganem and a third in the singles.
He continued his fine form when he arrived back in South Africa, winning the singles and doubles titles in the first of two Key Health tournaments in Johannesburg. In the second Key Health tournament in Benoni, he won the doubles and lost the singles final.
