TIME FOR HANI TO GO

AS a concerned citizen of Port Elizabeth, I am calling for Themba Hani to be relieved of his duties.

WORKED HARD FOR HIS MONEY

LEBO Gunguluza, Port Elizabeth-born millionaire: "he worked hard for his money” and that’s the honest way! Well done.

JJ, PORT ELIZABETH

LABOUR BROKERS WON’T BE BANNED

THE reason why the labour brokers can’t be banned is the regime’s business interest in them.

STEVE COURIER

ELECTRICITY CONCERNS

THE name is right: IBT – it is Income Boosting Time for all the bonuses that our government must get.

G

MY house is using 80.5 units in five days, but there’s no-one in the house from 7am to 4pm. Please, I need help.

R GUBAYO, MOTHERWELL, PORT ELIZABETH

IT’S not about paying R100 and getting fewer units, it’s about who is pulling additional units at night, forcing you to buy more and pushing you into the next bracket.

KM

FOR R900 we got 602 units of electricity. Eskom have to recover their money somehow after spending R36-million on a staff function. Daylight robbery.

CONSUMER

REPLY to CVG: you have been robbed. I buy for R100 and get 80.5 units.

HERALD OPINION

KAZEKA Kuse, go out there and make it happen, and stop the victim mentality.

MVN

KAZEKA Kuse, if there was a violent takeover of power would the black majority be any better off?

GAVIN

HOSTING AFCON CUP COSTS MILLIONS

NMBM has to cough up for the Afcon Cup, which means the ratepayers have to cough up. We, the residents, are tired of the NMBM draining us. How does this benefit Port Elizabeth?

SK

DANNY Jordaan, why don’t you pay the R20-million needed to host Afcon? You want it, you pay for it!

HENDRI, BLUEWATER BAY

AVRIL GORDON TELLS OF HER ORDEAL

FREDERICK Gordon is a monster. He must never come back to society.

MBONA, PORT ELIZABETH

FRED Gordon, remember Pappa is waiting for you!

READER

RELEASE Frederick Gordon on his own recognisance. It’s not the legal or ethical thing to do, but it may be the moral thing to do!

CRADOCK TAXI, BUS CRASH HORROR

THE authorities are to blame for not intervening when taxis make illegal turns, stop everywhere, etc. To get them to obey rules, punish every time.

MOTORIST

THOSE taxis from Cape Town should be banished. Enough is enough. Every accident is being caused by those taxis. Let us use those buses such as City to City.

COMMUTER

YES AL, the cops are afraid of the taxis!

MARIETJIE

I FULLY agree with T Friend regarding the road murders.

 TWM

I TOTALLY agree with T Friend! Port Elizabeth must have the worse drivers in South Africa by far!

MUISVDW

REPLY TO READER COMMENTS

I AGREE with CK ("Why must motorists pay?”). Can the municipality please stop wasting money and do something about Mission Road?

KEITH

NO COPS ON ROAD

I LEFT East London at 6am, arrived in Port Elizabeth at 9.15, and not a traffic cop to be seen. Why?

ANDRE NAUDE

PLENTY OF SUPPORT FOR JACK’S STANCE

I’M sure that a lot of people within the ranks of the ANC would agree with you, Mr Jack.
