THE PE Bowling Club turns 130 on August 14 and to celebrate the occasion a President’s dinner is being held with Proteas bowler Gerry Baker as the guest speaker. Tickets cost R100 and are available from Chris Moller (083-472-3000).



THERE is Wednesday morning mixed bowls at Park Drive, tabs in 9am.

The Park Drive Mixed Classic scheduled for Saturday has been cancelled. Park Drive will hold a fun day on August 9 (9am).



WESTVIEW will be having a fun day on Women’s Day (August 9). The men will be cooking breakfast and the cost, including green fees, is R30. Tabs in 9am. Book with Jenny (082-898-9783).

THE following sides have been selected to participate in the Mini Districts tournament to be played in Kenton from September 21-24: Hennie Slabbert, Nat Swanepoel, Herman Steyn and Warren Povey; Curt Fischer, Glenn Corson, Lance Impey and Juan Meyer; Shane Gobey, Terry Cawood, Tyrone Milligan and Jude Overmeyer; Barry van Wyk, Johan Botha, Alex Swartz and Jorge Rodrigues. Manager: Colin Smith. All players must wear white shirts for this tournament.



THE winners of the King Cars Thursday morning men’s pairs competition played on July 26 at Western Suburbs were Elred Ferreira and Billy Bryan.



THE winners of the Continental Cars women’s Classic at The Woods were Jane Freeman and her team from Westview. The winner of the liquor hamper was Terry Bulkin and the grocery hamper was Deryk Burmeister.
