THE Opera House board and management are heartened by the overwhelming interest shown in the proposed building and renovation activities of the Opera House.

As promised, the plans for the upgrade and extensions of the building are still on display in the foyer. Many positive phone calls and remarks in the comment book are resulting in constructive input into the process.

At its recent meeting, the PHRA (Provincial Heritage Resources Agency) requested that a heritage impact assessment, that would include further public participation, be done. Despite the added expense to the project, the Opera House is in the process of appointing the obligatory consultant for this assignment.

This will allow greater participation from the public for a much longer period. It would also allow time for interested people to contact the Opera House to acquaint themselves with the facts. For more information, please phone me on (041)586-2256.
