Road-rage culprit still on the loose

THE suspect in Saturday night’s road-rage incident in which a Bay kickboxing coach was shot has not been tracked down yet.

Hendrick Jansen van Rensburg, 22, is recovering in the Greenacres Hospital after being shot above the collarbone. The bullet is still lodged between his ribs. He was due to undergo a procedure last night to drain water from his lungs.

"I am feeling okay now and I am ready to go home. The bullet will remain in my ribs though,” Jansen van Rensburg said.

The driver of a white Corsa with no licence plates and his passenger approached Jansen van Rensburg after a traffic incident. The driver allegedly hit him in the face with a gun which went off and shot Jansen van Rensburg above the collarbone.

Jansen van Rensburg has been moved to a general ward and is in a stable condition.

Police spokesman Captain Johan Rheeder said they were investigating a case of attempted murder.

I hope they get caught very soon, any drunken person with a gun is a big danger to others. Selfish stupid men, who do they think they are, did you think with booze and a gun you've got more power. You should shoot yourself by "mistake"
