Girl, 12, accuses teacher of rape

A PORT Elizabeth primary school teacher has been suspended after he was accused of raping and molesting a 12-year-old Schauderville pupil.

The highly respected De Vos Malan Primary School teacher was suspended on Thursday following an investigation by the Schauderville school.

Police are also investigating after the Grade 7 pupil laid a complaint at the Gelvandale police station last month.

It is believed the school started its investigation in the middle of last month. Since then, the provincial Education Department has also begun an investigation and more pupils – in grades 5, 6 and 7 – have come forward with allegations of being molested by the teacher....
