VALENCIA edged Real Strikers 2-1 on Saturday to win the inaugural Biyana-Mofa Top Eight soccer competition.
Thabo Moreni put Valencia ahead late in the first half and scored again midway in the second session to make the score 2-0.
Strikers pulled one back five minutes later but failed to get the equaliser to force extra time.
Valencia picked up the winner’s purse of R5000, a floating trophy and medals. Strikers received R2000.
Moreni and Lonwabo Gcakasi, who won the top goalscorer and player of the tournament awards respectively, pocketed R500 each.
In the first division competition, City Rangers collected R1000 for beating NU29 United Stars 4-1.
KABAH United Brothers edged New City Stars 5-4 on penalties in a thrilling Nodefa Build-It Top Eight Premier League Challenge semifinal played at Jabavu Stadium on Saturday.
The teams were tied at 2-2 at the end of regulation time.

In the first division, Khayelitsha Stars beat Lion City 2-0 in the first semifinal, while Young Callies beat Chelsea in the other semifinal.
The winners of the Premier League Challenge will pocket R2500, a trophy and medals. The runners- up will receive R1500 and medals. The losing semifinalists will receive R500 each.
