LET'S paint the city red – that is my call to the country as a whole, locally, nationally, internationally and to all the Kings supporters, in particular in the Eastern Cape.
As so aptly put, "Super Rugby has new Kings!" Our boys have finally been given the go-ahead to prepare for Super Rugby next year and this news has ecstatically been welcomed by all supporters in the Eastern Cape.
The province has been starved of top class rugby for more than a decade and now has its chance to show what it's capable of. This will inspire any young players of any colour or background to take part in this sport and go on to represent our province at professional level.
It is my sincere hope that this call to "paint" the city red is heeded both nationally and internationally, every Friday, to celebrate the boys' call to participate in the prestigious Vodacom Super Rugby season next year. Eastern Cape citizens, including schools, religious communities, and all sport codes, are called upon to celebrate Super Red Fridays to show support for the EP Kings for inclusion and for their playing next year. Every Friday, let us "dress for success".
I want to congratulate those who made this possible. Congrats boys and make us proud.
