Teachers not to blame

JUST to say that the school and teachers were NOT to blame ("Pupils mowed down by truck", September 12) as alleged in the letter "Blame lies with school" (September 13).

That taxi always waits in front of the school on the gravel patch, but for some reason only the driver knows he made a U-turn and parked on the opposite side of the road!

The teachers keep the pupils inside until their transport arrives. Numerous times the school has requested a traffic officer to be there in the morning before school and when school comes out but NO joy!

So please don't you blame them – you weren't there and you don't know all the precautionary steps the school and teachers take to keep their kids safe!!
