CALLIES took another step towards defending their Pefa Premier League title on Friday when they thrashed Forresters 5-1 after leading 3-0 at the break.
On Saturday, Central Acemates, who have topped the log since the beginning of the season, beat PE City 4-0.
In their final match of the season, Callies will play Squares while Acemates have Highbury waiting in the wings. Callies need just a draw to win the title on goal difference.
In the only other match played over the weekend, NMMU beat Highbury.
FAIRVIEW Rovers booked their place in the semifinals of the Nafa Premier League Cup on Saturday with a close 1-0 win over Wolves.
Rovers need just a draw to finish second in Group B while only a win would have seen Wolves advance to the semis where they will play Group A winners, Bloom Callies.
Glenville, who topped Group B, will play Group A runners-up Chatty United. In the remaining group match, Shamrocks and Saints drew 2-2.
