THE 19th edition of the annual Nelson Mandela Bay Total Inter-local Football Association (ILFA) tournament kicks off at the Gelvandale Track tomorrow.
Each year, a football association affiliated to Safa Nelson Mandela Bay gets an opportunity to host the tournament.
This year it is the turn of the Northern Areas Football Association.
Starting from Saturday, matches will be played at the Adcock Stadium, kicking off at 9am. The finals and semifinals will be played at the same venue on Sunday.
Defending champions Langa- Rosedale, from Uitenhage, have been drawn in Group C with runners-up Kwazakhele.
They will be joined by SA Schools and PE East. In the women's competition, which also starts on Saturday, 12 teams have been drawn into four groups. Winners New Brighton have been drawn in Group D with Kwazakhele and PE East.
Runners-up Motherwell are in Group A with Langa-Rosedale and KwaNobuhle FA.
The winners of the men's competition will pocket R10000, a trophy and medals. The runners-up will receive R5000 and medals.
The losing semifinalists will receive R2500 each.
In the women's section, the winner will receive R5000, a trophy and medals. The runners-up will receive R3000 and medals. The losing semifinalists will receive R1000 each.
All the teams will play in kits sponsored by the National Lottery.
In the finals, the teams will play in the sponsors' kit. A soccer clinic for youngsters from 10 to 16 years old will also be held. Admission to the tournament is free.
