ONE thing I have learnt about life is that there is always someone worse off than oneself. While it may be cold comfort for local motorists, it is worth noting that the price for unleaded petrol in the United Kingdom increased this month to the equivalent of around R18 (139.71p) a litre.
I know there are all sorts of arguments about UK salaries being higher, fluctuating exchange rates and so on, but it is significant the price is so much higher than in South Africa. One can but marvel at how we have managed to keep the lid on our petrol and diesel prices.
