MyWeekend: Celebs share best braai tips

21 September 2012

WITH National Braai Day being celebrated on Heritage Day on Monday, three local personalities have shared their best braai secrets and also their biggest braai disasters!

EP Rugby's Anele Pamba remembers the New Year's Day his meat did a vanishing act, grid and all, while Gary Hemmings of Centrestage once got invited to a calamari braai where the fishy bits were as tough as old boots, with little else on offer.

See MyWeekend in Weekend Post on Saturday September 22 for their braai tips, and also a few recipes - like Ayanda Makaula from Umhlobo Wenene fm's famous Rainbow Nation Pap!

There's also an opportunity to win three copies of Hilary Biller's new cookery book, Fuss-Free Braais, which has more than 100 recipes to get your taste buds tingling. Entries close on Tuesday; to find out how to enter the competition check out the MyWeekend section.

Also in MyWeekend, find our handy holiday guide with 20 activities for kids for the forthcoming school holidays - all within just an hour's drive of Nelson Mandela Bay. There are handy contact numbers, hours of operation and also who to contact for more info.
