Two dead rhino have been found in northern KwaZulu-Natal, bringing to 39 the number of rhino killed this year, the Witness reported on Tuesday (25/09/2012).
"On Sunday one rhino was found dead in the Hluhluwe part of the ImfolozI-Hluhluwe Game Reserve and was probably poached three weeks ago,” Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife spokesman Musa Mntambo told the newspaper.
Mntambo said another rhino was found dead near the eastern shores [Nibela] in the Smangaliso Wetland Park Authority. It was about six weeks decomposed.
According to the website stoprhinopoaching.com, 388 rhino had been killed by September 21, just 60 short of the 488 killed last year. - Sapa
