Bowls briefs

THERE is Wednesday morning mixed bowls at Park Drive, tabs in 9am. Visitors welcome. Other Park Drive playing sessions are: Tuesday 2pm, Saturday 2pm, Sunday 9.15am, and public holidays 9am. Visitors, prospective members and new bowlers always welcome.

The final round and prize-giving of the Park Drive black and white pairs will be played on September 29. Players to report by 8.45am. Inquiries: Richard Shepheard 082-979-3205.


PEBC have social bowls on Tuesdays and Thursdays, tabs in 1.45pm, men's bowls on a Wednesday, tabs in 1.45pm, and black and white men's drawn pairs on a Friday, tabs in 8.55am.



WESTVIEW has tabs-in bowls for men and women on Wednesday mornings at 9am. Men can wear casual clothes. Other playing sessions are Saturday, tabs in 1.45pm, and Sundays at 9am. Cut-throat bowls is on Fridays at 9.30am.



THE draw for the Whiteside tournament is:

Section A: Mill Park A v Park Drive, The Woods v Uitenhage, Kenton v Midlands, Port Alfred v Albany, Despatch v Walmer Country Club, PEBC v Grahamstown, Mill Park v Kowie

Section B: The Woods v Walmer Country Club, Albany v Westview, Kenton v Grahamstown, Port Alfred v Midlands, Kowie v Uitehnhage, Park Drive v Walmer, PEBC v Despatch


THE winners of the King Cars Thursday morning men's pairs competition on September 20 at Western Suburbs were Bernie Worthington and Doug Stupart.


THE next rounds of the BLC women's pairs at WCC will be held on October 6 and 13. The final will be the champagne breakfast. Inquiries: Felicity 083-728-7264.



MILL Park will be having twilight bowls on Fridays at 5pm. Everyone welcome.
