REGARDING the letter, "Noise keeps fans away" (September 27), I am a Kings supporter and have been going to the stadium for every game. The music and the interaction by the present announcer is far better than that of the last announcer (yes, maybe a bit loud) the stadium had for the Kings' games.
In the defence of the announcer, I don't think he thinks it is his duty to play the music loud, as you have stated. I would say it would probably be by instruction from the powers above who have hired him.
I do feel that it has created a great vibe in the stadium though yes, the sound engineers could look at sorting out the acoustics and yes, the music could come down a bit. Now to put the blame on the announcer, who is only there to play the music and to interact during the main game, is incorrect.
Correct me if I am wrong, but we are probably the only rugby union that has interaction at our games compared to the other provinces, and I don't see much support at their games compared to the Kings' home games. Now to the announcer, great job and great music choice, and great interaction during the game.
