Grey teams excel at national week events

10 October 2012
AFTER a slow start to the Cape Schools Cricket Week hosted by Union High in Graaff-Reinet, Grey High finished strongly with two good wins against Western Cape rivals Wynberg and SACS last week.

One of the highlights was Lloyd Brown's century in the opening game of the week against Westville.

The second XI had mixed fortunes at the Cape Youth 1st XI Cricket Week in Cape Town. Unfortunately, this festival was hampered by rain, but they managed two good wins, but lost to the Westerford first XI.

The Grey High u-15 and u-14 teams both enjoyed unbeaten runs at their respective weeks.

Grey were the hosts to the B&S Grey u-15 week in which Sebastian Pau excelled with the bat and Matthew Lawson with the ball.

The Charl van Rooyen u-14 week was hosted by Selborne in East London and Grey's Chad Lookwhy won the bowling prize of the week. Mathew Breetzke was the Grey team's most consistent batsman.
