Mystified by pipe in the sand

A FEW weekends ago, we were a group of six walkers, exploring the dunes along the sea side in the Colchester area and came across this very strange, long pipe and as this was in an area not at all easily reached, we believe this pipe could only have fallen out of the sky. The same size of pipe was under the ground as well.

The pipe was made of some kind of titanium or similar metal. Can anyone please let us know for what this was used – maybe a microlight, helicopter or some kind of structure from a plane?

This pipe has now been removed and cut up, but we still don't know what it is. Please contact Les Kingma at tel 082-465-4391 if you know. What a very interesting find this was indeed !
