Art museum and music offerings

JOIN the Friends of the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Art Museum for a public lecture this evening by museum director Dr Melanie Hillebrand, when she reflects on Chinese ceramics playing a pivotal role in the colonisation by Europeans of southern Africa.

The lecture at the museum in Park Drive is at 5.30pm and entrance and refreshments are free. Contact (041)506-2000



BRITISH folk legends Magna Carta are in Jeffreys Bay for a show at Potter's Place tonight.

The group, best known for albums Lord of the Ages and Seasons, is one of the longest-running acoustic acts. It was founded by Chris Simpson in April 1969. In 2009 the group disbanded but Simpson has continued touring. Simpson has teamed up with multi-instrumentalist Laurens Joensen to do a tour of South Africa.



THE Four Winds Music club presents a line-up of musicians hosted by Claire Venn at The Music Kitchen in Newton Park, Port Elizabeth, tonight. It includes music by Derryn Fuller, Megan du Toit, Faye Gatley and Venn.
