A FUGITIVE with six aliases, 27 convictions and 17 pending cases was arrested in Port Elizabeth this week – after he called police to save him from one of his previous victims – and then attempted to shoot his way out of the Humewood police station.

Sherman Jones, 33, has a long history of crime – mostly robbery and theft – along the coast between Cape Town and Durban. There are six warrants of arrest out for him in Cape Town and KwaZulu-Natal.

His latest conviction occurred in George last month where he pleaded guilty and paid a fine after being charged with burglary and possession of stolen property.
