EC storms aftermath

FOUR people, including a policeman, have died and scores of business and property owners are still assessing the damage after the heavy rain and wind which battered the Eastern and Southern Cape coast on Wednesday. Port Alfred was the hardest hit, with 165mm of rain recorded.

The rain is expected to continue until Sunday, with an average daily rainfall of between 10mm and 15mm forecast.

However, heavy rain has been predicted in the Overberberg, southern parts of the Cape Winelands and western parts of the Eden District today, spreading into the eastern parts of the Eden District tomorrow.
