I AM just one of the many ordinary citizens of this country, one of the many who rejoiced in 1994 when we achieved a true democracy and believed there would be a better future for all.
What have we achieved? Shambolic schools, horror hospitals, crumbling infrastructure, corruption and fraud among our leaders and a country on the way down instead of up. Our leaders are uncaring of the ordinary citizen, and are steeped in a sense of entitlement and to hell with the rest.
It is time to replace these backward-looking politicians with forward-looking leaders who are prepared to set aside their own self interests and steer South Africa towards being a meaningful player in a fast moving world. Leaders who have a superior work ethic, high moral standards and who can see the big picture for the whole country and not just themselves.
Top education should be a priority. Top service standards from all civil servants must be demanded.
Only nurses and medical staff who are committed to their profession should be employed. We need leaders who will put the past behind them and lead us into the 21st century and not the dark ages.
Wake up citizens and vote in leaders who are committed to us and not themselves. Only you have the power to prevent self seeking cadres from pushing us all into the abyss.
