Grey dominate at CT Stayers festival

23 October 2012
GREY High, without four regulars, underlined their depth on the squash court when they went through the Wynberg Stayers Festival unbeaten at the weekend.

Earlier this year, the team finished fourth in the South Africa Top Schools tournament and they have enjoyed an unbeaten run in local fixtures and derby day encounters.

While fielding a young team in Cape Town, they still managed to stay unbeaten, although there were some close encounters.

Against both Paarl Boys and Menlo Park Squash Academy, they were level 3-3 in matches, but each time Grey edged home on a games count.

Denzil Kennedy and Liam Ford produced consistent squash to remain unbeaten. The other members of the team were Morgan Fuller, Jarrod Ackhurst, Danzel van der Merwe and Ryan Keeton.

Grey's results were: beat Wynberg Invitation 6-0, tied with Paarl Boys 3-3 (Grey won 13-10 in a games count), tied with Menlo Park Squash Academy 3-3 (Grey won 14-11 in a games count), beat Kearsney 5-1.
