Tourney just one big party

E-mail your letter to The Herald

WELL stated in your letter, George van der Merwe ("Money spent on event will not benefit the city's poor", October 23). However you failed to mention that with this event go the free Johnny Blue and Black whisky, and free food.

This also will entitle all the freeloaders to bring wives and girlfriends to this event. Can you imagine all the invited guests and their wives receiving Afcon memorabilia, bags, shirts, hats and all the other stuff our money can buy? I am sure our friendly neighbour Robert might even crack the nod to join.

Why do you think there is this crazed rush to re-ignite the failed bus transport system? This soccer event has already been signed off.

All this while our city is washed down the drain by rain and under-performing brains. We need the help of our Lord now more than ever.
