Zuma works magic in draw

IT was a case of "Zuma magic" as President Jacob Zuma drew minnows Cape Verde Islands last night as Bafana Bafana's opponents in the opening match of the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) in Johannesburg next year.

Bafana Bafana were handed a fair combination of opponents at the draw at the International Convention Centre in Durban that will leave them confident of progressing past Group A in the competition.

Dancers and performers Mafikizolo and Nigeria's Omawumi Megbele entertained a crowd of about 2000 who attended the draw, matching its theme, "The Beat at Africa's Feet".
